Our Honorary President

Our beloved elder, who adorned his 67-year life journey with numerous successes and multifaceted achievements:

Osman MÜFTÜOĞLU,

was born on March 28, 1951, in Çorum. He completed his secondary education in the Electrical Department of Çorum Vocational School between 1962 and 1968. He started his working life during his high school years. In 1970, he achieved his biggest dream by being accepted into the Electrical Engineering Department at Istanbul Yıldız Technical University. Due to financial difficulties, he continued his student life by both working and studying. He attended evening classes at the university while working as an electrical technician at his school and in his neighborhood during the day. During these years, he met his future wife, Mrs. Gülendam. In 1976, he started working as an Electrical Engineer in Village Electrification in his beloved hometown, Çorum. In 1977, he stepped into a happy marriage with Mrs. Gülendam, which would last for 41 years and produce three children. After completing his military service in 1978, he entered the business world and opened a chandelier and electrical supplies store with his brother Mustafa Müftüoğlu. In 1982, meeting Ahmet Yücel Onat and the Hüseyin Rahmi Tankaya became a significant turning point in his life, leading him to work at AR Elektrik. Thanks to his determination, honesty, and efficiency, he quickly became one of the company's partners. With AR Elektrik, he achieved success not only in the electrical sector but also in many other areas. In 1993, together with his fellow Çorum enthusiast and businessman Ahmet Ahlatçı, he laid the first foundations of ÇEDAŞ (Corum Electricity Distribution Inc.) and was involved in the establishment of ÇORUMGAZ (Corum Natural Gas Inc.). For many years, he played an active role in the management of ÇORUMGAZ alongside with Mr. Ahlatçı, and served as co-chairman. In addition to his active roles in professional organizations, he also made a name for himself in various fields, such as the presidency of ÇORUM SPOR(Çorum Sport)  He was loved by everyone around him for his generosity, honesty, sincerity, fatherly nature, and humor. AR Elektrik, with his presence, became both a school and a source of income for many employees, engineers, and entrepreneurs.

This success was not achieved easily; his intense and stressful life, starting from scratch, fell prey to a relentless illness at the age of 64. Despite prolonged treatments and his dedication to life, he passed away on January 17, 2018, at the age of 67, finding peace in the mercy of God.

Now, his entrusted legacy is being continued by his brother Mustafa Müftüoğlu, his children Taha Müftüoğlu, Banu Müftüoğlu Ülkü, Selim Kaya, his business partners, and employees, all working together to carry it forward and take it to greater heights.
